Do you ever feel like you’re busy all the time but not accomplishing anything?  Let’s face it, there are a lot of things vying for your attention. Distractions like social media, the news, emails, texts, and apps that you only intend to spend a minute on can be more appealing than some of the other tasks you need to do.

These ‘quick’ sidetracks can easily add up to hours and leave you wondering why you’re not getting the results you want.

To stay focused, get in the habit of asking yourself this question throughout the day:

Is what I’m doing right now helping me achieve the results that I want?

If the answer is no, set the distraction aside and get back to the task that will lead you to results.

You can always reward yourself later with a mental break after you’ve focused on a productive task for a designated period of time.  For example, focus for 50 minutes then give yourself a 10 minute break.

When you get in the habit of asking yourself this question you will quickly regain focus and end each day knowing that you accomplished something.
